A former top top official of the White House has said that the tariff imposed by US President Donald Trump on India for the purchase of Russian oil has pushed New Delhi more towards Beijing-Moscow axis and Washington’s ignorance is ‘unknown mistake’. John Bolton, who was his National Security Advisor (NSA) during Trump’s first President’s tenure, made the comment on Friday a day before the ‘important’ meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin at Aankorez, Alaska.

Bolton said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday, “When Trump put tariffs on India for the purchase of Russian oil, but not on China, who buys oil from Russia, then India may have been stretched towards Beijing-Moscow axis.
