After meeting Putin in Alaska, US President Donald Trump has made shocking comments about the Ukraine War. In an interview to Fox News, Trump advised Ukraine President Zelancesi to end the war by compromising with Russia. Trump said in his statement, “Make a deal… Yes, Russia is a great power and they are not (Ukraine).” This comment has come after meeting with his Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is worth noting that Zelansky was not invited to the Trump-Putin Summit on Friday. However, earlier the Ukrainian President met European leaders and held a virtual meeting with Trump on Wednesday.
Jailmanki’s warning
In the virtual meeting, Zelancesi warned Trump that Putin is bluffing the desire for peace and actually its purpose is to achieve regional concessions only. Expert believes that Trump’s remarks can debate in Washington and European capitals, as the official policy of Western countries has been to maintain pressure on Russia and give full support to Ukraine. At the same time, Trump’s stance indicates that they consider the agreement to be a practical option to resolve conflict. The Ukraine War has now entered the third year and the possibility of a comprehensive peace agreement between Russia-Ukraine still appears to be blurred. In such a situation, the meeting of Trump and Putin and the subsequent statements is raising new questions in international politics.
What did Putin say on America-Ukraine
After meeting Trump in Alaska, Putin said that the previous round was very difficult for bilateral relations. On relations with America, the Russian President said, ‘Honestly, they have reached their lowest level since the Cold War and it is not good for our countries or the world as a holistic manner. It is obvious that it was necessary to improve the situation late and move towards dialogue with conflict. On Ukraine, Putin said that we look at the US administration and President Trump’s desire to help personally resolve the Ukrainian conflict, in its core and see their desire to understand it deeply. All valid concerns of Russia should be taken into consideration and proper balance in the security sector in Europe and the overall world.
