Germany, Japan Partner ‘aggressive’ to face China – DW – 08/18/2025

German Foreign Minister Johan Wadeful started his first visit to Japan by praising his host country as Berlin’s “Premium Partner” in Asia, given that Tokyo and Berlin shared a “long, deep and close friendship”.

Speaking with Wadeful, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Ivea, following the rule of democracy and shared values, he said he said he was importing “at times of crises and struggle”.

Wadeful indicated to Ukraine, Gaza and Iran to “highlight that close cooperation between friends and natural colleagues is becoming increasingly necessary.”

Wadeful is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Government Economic Minister before delivering a speech at a Japanese Shanti Foundation and continuing to Indonesia.
