Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday welcomed the “stable progress” made in reforming China in bilateral relations with China during his meeting with Beijing Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang’s journey follows years of poor relations between the nuclear-skills Asian powers.
“Since my meeting with President Xi [Jinping] Last year, in Kazan, India-China relations have guided the continuous progress by respecting each other’s interests and sensations, “Modi said in a post on social media platform X.
Modi to visit China in late August
At the beginning of the meeting, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Dowal said that Modi will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit which starts in Tianjin from 31 August.
“Our Prime Minister wants to visit the SCO Summit,” Dowal said, in diplomatic relations talking about “new energy”.
This will be the first time in seven years when Indian Prime Minister will visit China.
Wang said that China “gives great importance to Modi’s visit at Modi’s SCO summit, according to an official translator.
Wang said, “History and reality once again prove that a healthy and stable China-India relationship serves the fundamental and long-term interests of our countries.”
When did the Indo-Chinese tie begin?
India and China, the two most populous countries in the world have created a stressful relationship by rivalry and competitions for influence in South Asia.
In 2020, stress rose to a deadly range clash. The violence released 20 Indian soldiers and four Chinese soldiers, putting indefinite freeze on high-level political engagement.
The melting between Beijing and New Delhi began in the last October when Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met at a peak of emerging economies in Russia.
This was the first time the leaders had formally spoke since 2019.
Trump Tetfs Key to improve India-China relations
US President Donald Trump’s aggressive tariff policy has increased the friction between New Delhi and Washington with a tattiff standing on India as reconstruction of India-China relations.
India has been a long -time American ally, which has been seen as an imbalance against China’s influence in Asia.
This year, both India and China have made official trips and discussed some trade restrictions, the movement of citizens and reducing the visa for people of buses.
In the last week, India’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Randhir Jaywal, said that India and China have discussed their 3.488-kilometer (2.167-mile) border to resume the trade three area.
