Christmas day is considered to be the most happy day of the whole year, but this day came as a death for Charlie Davis Lawson’s family.
Charlie Lawson was a tobacco farmer by profession. In the month of December, he took a beautiful picture in a studio of his entire family. It was not common to do professional photography at that time, but Charlie specially got this photoshoot done.
One by one, everyone killed
First of all, he looked at his two daughters Carrie (12) and Mabel (7). Both came out of the house to meet their uncle-aunt. Charlie was already hiding on the way. He attacked both of them with a shotgun and then brutally beaten to death. He pulled the corpses and threw it into the garden. After this he returned home and shot his wife Fanny (37), then a gun on his elder daughter Mary, the same daughter, about which later a truth came out which surprised everyone. Mary was also killed.
A son left alive
When people later saw the corpses, everyone’s soul trembled. All the bodies were kept with folded hands and stones were placed under the head, as if a strange ritual was played. But Arthur, the member of a family survived, the eldest son. Charles sent him out for some work a night before the murder. When Arthur returned home, he saw this terrible scene and immediately informed the police. The search for Charles started but soon a bullet sound came from the nearby forest. The body of Charles was found there and some letters he wrote. There were footprints around a tree near his body, as if he was circling with restlessness before he died.

Seven family members killed death
The question in the minds of the people was why Charlie killed his entire family? The answer came out after about 60 years. In 1990, a woman named Stella Bols, who was a relative of the Lawson family, opened the secret. Stella said that her mother and women had discussed at that time that Fanny (Charlie’s wife) came to know about her daughter and husband’s relationship.
Actually, Charlie was exploiting his own daughter Mary. Mary also described this secret from Johnson in her friend Ella. She told that she is pregnant and the child belongs to her father. When Fanny came to know about this, tension increased inside the family. In fear and shame, Charlie thought that everyone should be eliminated before this secret came out and that is why he killed his entire family on Christmas day.
