Family fleeing in Gaza ‘trauma,’ UNICEF spokesperson told DW
As Israel proceeds with its aggressive in Gaza city, it is estimated that on August 10, about 400,000 people in Gaza city, or 40% people, when the aggressive was announced, had already fled.
Gaza’s media office says 190,000 people have moved south and 350,000 have moved to the middle and western region of the city.
Israel still expects around 100,000 citizens to live in the city.
UNICEF spokesperson at Gaza, Tes Ingram told DW that Palestinian on the ground says they are insecure whether they stay or leave in Gaza city.
“It is so -called Humanitrian Zone, Al Mavasi, not a safe place, there are no essential services and supplied people need to survive in sufficient quantities. And so recently there have been attacks in the region two weeks ago, while trying to reach safe drinking water and was the youngest three years old.”
The residents of Gaza have seen bombing around him, there is a fear that it will get worse, Ingram said.
He said, “The families were provoked, they were shocked. There the children were children walking on the tirmac and their legs were bleeding. And the thesis families are running in unknown,” she said.
Although UNICEF Gaza is present in both the south of the city and the region, Ingram warned that the current humanitarian response is not meeting the needs of the current population, “If hundreds of thousands of more people land in this area, then walk alone.”
