Top talent in America and new gold card visa plan for the rich

US President Donald Trump on Friday introduced a new visa program ‘Gold Card’, which aims to attract top-level talent and high net-beauty individuals in the US. According to US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik, the scheme has been made for the most outstanding people, who can make an economic or socially significant contribution to the country. Gold card visa is different from traditional green card. In this, rather than long process or complications, applicants will get a chance of fast track residency.

The application will have to contribute US $ 1 million (Rs 8.8 crore). This amount is given as a ‘gift’ and it can be used to benefit the investment, society or economy in America. The application process is easy. First of all, the applicant will have to pay non-refundable processing fees. Subsequently, a detailed background will be checked by US citizenship and immigration services (USCIS). After submission of all the required documents on time, if the application is approved, the contribution of $ 1 million is mandatory.

‘Corporate Gold Card’ has also been brought for companies under this scheme. For this, one has to contribute $ 2 million and it allows companies to give residency to its employees in America. These cards can be transferred within the organization, but for this, transfer fees and homeland security approval is necessary.

Preparation for platinum card launch

Apart from this, the Trump administration is going to launch ‘Platinum Card’ soon. Under this card, people who contribute $ 5 million can live in America for 270 days a year. Visa will not be required for this and global income will not be taxed.
