Us-pakistan relations: The meeting of US President Donald Trump and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has created a new stir in international politics. Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir was also present in this important meeting held at the Oval Office of the White House. Trump praised the two leaders before the meeting and described them as ‘Great Leaders’. The meeting has taken place at a time when a large trade deal has been signed between the US and Pakistan recently and the Washington-Islamabad relations seem to be rapidly increasing.
According to the Times of India report, the main objective of this meeting was to discuss the strategy to end the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. In fact, Shahbaz Sharif met Trump with top leaders from eight Islamic countries during the UN General Assembly held in New York this week. Now the meeting held in the White House is being considered ahead of this conversation.
Concession in tariff along with trade deal
Actually, there was an important trade deal between the US and Pakistan in July. Under this deal, Pakistan’s unused oil reserves have been opened for American investment as well as many types of tariff concessions for Islamabad. This agreement is being seen as a new beginning of relations between the two countries.
Trump’s attitude changed for the bosses of terror
However, it is worth noting that Donald Trump had earlier called Pakistan a ‘terrorist safe where’ and accused America of cheating. But now their attitude seems to be changing. Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir has visited America twice in recent times and he had also carried forward Trump’s name for Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump has no role in reducing India-Pakistan tension
At the same time, Trump has also claimed that he has played a role in reducing military tension between India and Pakistan. He says that after the Pahgam terror attack, he helped in resting peace during the operation vermilion of India. However, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi denied this claim and said that no foreign power had any role in it.
Because of this, Trump is giving importance to Pakistan
Please tell that Trump is not kind to Pakistan. He considers Pakistan strategically a suitable option of control over India and Middle East. In addition, Trump considers Pakistan an important part of the American strategy in Afghanistan. Trump also recently said that Bagram Airbase of Afghanistan is very strategic, as it is very close to China’s nuclear bases. In this way, the US is giving a central role to Pakistan in its new geopolitical plan.
