UNGA 80th Session Live Updates: As soon as the month of September arrives, the eyes of leaders around the world stand towards New York. There are meetings of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where global issues are debated and many important proposals are passed. This year too, the 79th session of the General Assembly started from 9 September. On the same day, the new president took over, the agenda was fixed and organizational work started. In the initial days, the delegates formed committees, held meetings and prepared for the main debate. Debate also started from 23 September. In this debate, the leader of every country is given time to speak 15 minutes. However, many times this speech becomes longer. Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif in his speech raised poison on India. India has shown a mirror to Pakistan under Right to Reply. But today i.e. on August 27, Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will give a reply from India.
The debate goes on in two sessions. From 9 am to 2:45 pm (from 6:30 pm to 12:15 pm Indian time). The second session takes place from 3 pm to 9 pm (from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm Indian time). Dr. Jaishankar will speak at around 10 in the night according to Indian time. Today he is the 14th speaker and in such a situation, if 13 speakers take more time, then the time of his speech can also move forward. The event takes place at the United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan, New York City. The complex situated along the East river was built between 1949 and 1952. The special thing is that this sector is considered an international zone.

Interestingly, the first six meetings of the United Nations General Assembly were held in different cities, including London and Paris. But since 1952, almost all the sessions have been held at the New York Headquarters.
