Tension in business relations between America and India is continuously increasing. On Sunday, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik openly warned several big partner countries, including India, that if they want to maintain access to the American Consumer Market, they would have to be treated properly with the US. Lonik said in an interview, Switzerland, Brazil, India… These are the countries that will have to react properly to America. If you want to sell your goods in America, then you have to play with the President by coordinating.

Lonik’s statements have come at a time when the Trump administration has taken many types of strict business steps on India. Recently, up to 50% tariffs were imposed on goods coming from India, while 25% duty was also imposed on India’s oil purchase from Russia. Even before this, on 15 September, Lutnik warned India that the market should be opened for American agricultural products and reduce tariffs, otherwise it would be difficult to do business.

“Want balanced business”

Lonik reiterated that Washington’s goal is a balanced trade and the pressure will continue until it is achieved. He said, this is the policy of the President. If you assume or it will be difficult for you to do business in the biggest consumer market like America. In the interview, Lonik said that the tariff of Trump administration will promote advanced manufacturing in the US. According to him, the report of losing 80,000 jobs is incorrect. Actually, millions of new jobs will be made with tariffs. There are 6.9 million people in America who like to work by hand. Now they will get advanced technical training. Lonik claimed that the US is going to start the biggest training program so far and this will take the economy to new heights.

H-1B visa dispute
The huge concern for Indian professionals is an H-1B visa policy. The Trump administration has recently increased its fee to $ 100,000 (about 88 lakh rupees) annually. Lonik said, this is time to fix lottery. We need only the most high-level, high-educated and high-devotion professionals-such as doctors, professors and top engineers. There is no longer a place for cheap tech consultants or trainees. This decision is considered a big setback for IT companies of India because their huge dependence is on sending Indian engineers to America.

Trump -mask also spoke on relationships
In the interview, Lonik also commented on Trump and Allen Musk’s relationship. He said that Trump is a very good person of the heart and even though he forgives Musk, but will not forget. The controversy between Trump and Musk recently increased when Tesla chief criticized Trump’s new Big Beautiful Bill as dirty and dangerous. However, both of them were later seen in a cordial manner in a program.
