Madagascar President Andrey Rajolina on Monday dissolved her government during the deadly deadlie days, says the United Nations says at least 22 people died.
“I have decided to finish the work of the Prime Minister and the government,” Rajolina said in a television national address.
Hey said that Prime Minister Christian Nations and other ministers will remain on an interim basis until a new government can be formed. Hey gave a three -day deadline to review the proposals of a new Prime Minister.
“I understand the difficulties caused by anger, sadness and power cuts and water supply problems,” he said. “Your demands have been heard, and I apologize if there are members of the government who have not done the work that people expected.”
Rajolina had already dismissed the Energy Minister on Friday.
What about Madagascar’s protests?
Thousands of people, most young protesters, have put on the streets on the streets since Thursday against old electricity and water cuts and widespread poverty.
Some protesters indicated a central slogan of the movement “we want to live, not alive,” reading indications.
Madagascar, a large island on the east coast of Southern Africa, ranks in the lower ten of the UNS Human Development Index.

The state-r-rummed electric and water services usually posts almost daily outage schedule on Facebook. But on Thursday, the day the protest took place, it suspended the group activity for 36 days, including new posts and comments.
Protesters called for Rajolina’s resignation
Earlier on Monday, the growing crowd marched through the capital Antananarivo, many dressed in black clothes and chanting calls to resign Rajoli.
In his television announcement, the President did not indicate that he would step down.
Rajolina is President since 2019. He was the leader of a provisional government after the first 2009 coup. He was re -elected in one vote in 2023, boycotted by most opposition candidates.
How many people were killed against Madagascar?
For a tally by the United Nations Human Rights Office, 22 people have hit bees killed in clashes around protests.
OHCHR said in a statement, “The number of casualties including protesters and Betanders killed by members of the security forces, so others were killed in subsidized violence and were not associated with demonstrations by individuals and gangs.”
So more than 100 people are gambling in protests, it said.
Madagascar’s External Affairs Minister Rasata Rafraitfika has disputed the toll of the United Nations death, saying “the government strongly denies” that 22 people died.
The government has not released any of its figures on how many people were killed or injured.
Is there a link to other genes to protests?
The movement has adopted a pirate flag as a rally symbol from the Japanese Anime series “One Peace”.
The logo which was recently used in Nepal in Nepal, along with young-elevated, anti-governance protests, as well as Indonesia, Philippines and France.
Hence the protesters in Madagascar have named their movement General Z, a surname for those born in the 1990s and early 2010s.
