Cabinet Retreat aims to rebuild the team’s spirit
Nearly five months after taking the oath, the conservative social democrats federal cabinet is making its first comeback, expecting a rocky start after a rocky start.
The two -day meeting at Villa Borsig on Lake Tegel in Northwest Berlin is mainly ready to focus on bureaucracy cut and improving the competition of the German economy.
Conservative Chancellor Frederick Merz preceded before retreat, “The companies are supported against the wall in some cases or standing with a leg on the shore. So we have to give delivery results quickly here.”
After a short time in the office, satisfaction with the ruling alliance of Centerrigt CDU/CSU BLOC and Center-Life Social Democrats (SPD) has decreased a record.
On Wednesday, the government plans to adopt a modernization agenda for the state and administration, which will cut the cost of the bureaucracy 25%, or € 16 billion (about $ 19 billion), partially reducing the level of federal employees by up to 8%.
The previous “traffic-light” alliance organized its cabinet retreat at Messburg Palace 70 km north of Berlin. There, the center-top social democrats, green and business-centered free democrats repeatedly ply to the son to resume the son only to quarrel.
Unlike Messburg, Merz and his 17 ministers will not live overnight in the campus. Nevertheless, a social element is planned: after the day’s program ends, they will share dinner together.
