Bunker Buster Bomb: After the US AIRIRRI on Iran in June, Pentagon has now passed a big budget of $ 123 million. This money is kept to replace 14 bunker buster bombs that were used in the attack. Boeing has been given the responsibility of supply and integration of these bombs.
In June, the American B -2 Stealth Bombers had a airplane on Iran’s three important nuclear sites – Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. It was told that 14 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs were dropped in these stripes. These are bombs that can enter several hundred feet underground and also have the ability to blow deep bunkers. After the attack, the Pentagon immediately decided that it is necessary to compensate the used bombs. For this reason, a budget of $ 123 million was re-locked.
GBU-57 MOP is considered to be the world’s heaviest proceedings guided bomb. Its weight is about 30,000 pounds i.e. 13,600 kg and the length is up to 20 feet. It can peniterate up to about 200 feet inside the ground. This bomb is especially taken from B-2 Spirit like Advanced Stealth Bomber. According to the Airforce, this bomb can hit its target properly even by going to such a depth.
These bombs are produced in many factories. Casing and body are prepared in special plants of Army. Then high-grade explosives are filled in them. Boeing adds a tail kit and guidance system to it. This system gives the bomb the capacity of accurate navigation and targeting. Integration of this bomb on B-2 also boys. This is the reason that the responsibility of replacement has also been given to Boeing.
It is not easy to replace these bombs. Heavy casting, special fuse and tail kits are made different places. America is already working to increase production capacity.
There is a preparation to trip production in special plants. Quality control and testing process is also long. The new contract will cover all these steps. Also, Boeing has been given a task of working on the next generation version.
The operation that the Pentagon mentioned was directly told in the ‘support of Israel’. This means that it was not just military operation but also a political message. The strategic partnership of America and Israel is clearly visible behind this entire step. At the same time, this action is being seen as a strong warning for Iran and its allies.
