German Unity Day – 35 -year signs defeated reunion
Germany is celebrating what is its most important public holiday, which is German unity day.
On October 3, 1990, East Germany and West Germany united to become a federal republic of Germany, ending the separation of the two since World War II.
On this day, each year, one of the federal states conducts a large, official festival – uniquely in his state capital.
This year’s main program is the German city of the German city of Sarabuken in the state of Sarland, the south -western state of France.
The official program lasts from 2 October to 4 October and promises “entertainment, art and culture, as well as a Democratic Exchange” with Pakistani specialties and tourism.
German Chancellor Frederick Merz, Guest of Honor, France will mark the day with Emmanuel Macron.
“35 -year -old German unity is a reason to celebrate. Reunion was not given one, but the work of courageous people who stood for freedom and democracy,” Merz posted on social media platform X, ahead of this incident
The German leader said, “It remains our job to come together: East, West, North and South. Our diversity makes us strong.”
Merz later wanted to go to East Germany for a concert in the evening in a der salary.
