Lithuania’s Villanius Airport announced the closure of its airspace in the early hours of Sunday, due to the reporting of Lithuanian media, it was probably due to a balloon flying in the airspace.

LRT, the national broadcaster of Lithuania, stated that the closure was “possibly due to the viewing of hot air balloons.”
The airport said: “According to our information, the decision was made for a possible range of balloons leading to Villanius Airport. As a result of this incident, the flight has been affected.”
The flights were redirected at other airports, including Riga and Kanas, LRT reported.
The incident is the latest in a string of recent European airport closure on the view of the drone, the latest of which is in Munich, Germany.
