The White House said on Saturday that US President Donald Trump has authorized the deployment of 300 National Guard soldiers to “protect the federal officials and assets” in Chicago.
Trump has been threatening to create the move for weeks as part of his militaryized cracks on immigration, which has tried protests and allegations from critics that the President is using the authority strategy.
The decision was announced after temporarily suspending a uniform deployment for Portland, Oregon.
Trump has already sent National Guard soldiers to Washington DC, Los Angeles and Memphis, which he has called a “large -scale” crime, and threatened to do the same for Chicago, New Orleans and Portland.
All cities of the question have Democratic leaders, who dispute all Trump’s claims that the crime is out of control.
Why has the Trump administration deployed soldiers in Chicago?
After the Homeland Security Department (DHS), it was announced on Saturday that US border patrol personnel shot an armed woman in Chicago, Illinois during a deadlock between protesters and federal immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) agents.
A DHS spokesman said a group was seen in the incident, in which armed women, surrounding cars in snow vehicles, said a spokesman of DHS.
US Secretary, Homeland Security, Christie Nom said on X that she was “deploying more special operations to control the scene” and “the reinforcement was on her way.”
A DHS statement said that no officer was seriously injured in the confrontation, while the woman took herself to the hospital.
Illinois Governor, JB Pritzkar said on Saturday that Trump gave him a “ultimatum” to deploy Illinois National Guard.
A Democrat, Pritzkar, said, “It demands to send military soldiers within our own boundaries to demand a completely derogatory and a Governor of the United Nations.”
The judge temporarily blocks the Portland Troop Purification
The White House announced the deployment of the Chicago National Guard, when a judge temporarily stopped the Trump administration from singing from soldiers to Portland, Oregon.
Last week, US President Donald Trump said he was authorized to use the soldiers to use “full strength if necessary”, which he called the “war-opposed portland”.
Trump stated that soldiers were required to protect federal immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) facilities in Portland, which they said that “siege and attack” under “siege and attack” from “domestic terrorists” said “siege and attack”.
Why did Oregon officials sue the Trump administration?
Portland officials have dismissed Trump’s allegations, some stated that some claims of the US President on social media are based on images of violent protests in 2020 during unrest after the killing of George Floid.
In the trial, Oregon officials argued that the deployment of the White House violated the right to policy to its citizens of the state along with several federal laws.
He said that Trump was illegally trying to control the state national guard units by increasing the threat of protest against his immigration policies. Oregon officials said the protests in Portland were “small and seduced.”
District Judge Karin Evergut agreed, and ruled in favor of Oregon officials, who filed a lawsuit to stop the deployment of Trump. The deployment has been blocked at least by 18 October.
In his judgment on Saturday, Evergut stated that the protests in Portland do not present the “threat of rebellion” and that the city’s “regular law enforcement force” was capable of dealing with events.
The White House said it would appeal.
