Lithuania’s Villanius Airport announced that its airspace was reopened after its closure in the early hours of Sunday, reporting the Lithuanian media that it was probably due to a balloon flying in the airspace.
“Women’s airport was opened at 04:50 [0150 GMT]”The airport said on its website.
“If your flight may be canceled, do not do at the airport. For more information about your flight, please contact your airline,” the announcement has been said.
Why is Villanius Aerospeace closed?
LRT, the national broadcaster of Lithuania, stated that the war of the Counties Main Airport “probably due to the hot air balloon.”
The airport said: “According to our information, the decision was made for a possible range of balloons leading to Villanius Airport. As a result of this incident, the flight has been affected.”
The flights were redirected at other airports, including Riga and Kanas, LRT reported.
The source of the balloon has been identified so far.
The incident is the latest in a string of recent European airport closure on the view of the drone, the latest of which is in Munich, Germany. While some countries indicated fingers in Russia, Moscow has taken himself away from events.
No-fly zone with Belarus border
Lithuania has affected 90 km (60-mile) no-fly zone with its border with Belarus after entering the drone from the neighboring country.
A member of the NATO said that this measure would enable its armed forces to respond rapidly to airship violations.
