We are from India but not its contractor, Shashi Tharoor would not have even thought of this reaction

In his column, he wrote that there are 535 members in the US Congress- 100 senators and 435 representatives. But Shashi Tharoor ji made big claims about Indian American migrants based on only one member of that group. If he had asked us and people of the migrant community who had been advocating strong America-India cooperation for decades, they would have heard something else, in a clean and loud voice.

We are not India’s contractors

Suhag Shukla wrote, ‘Just as India and Indian citizens have a duty to pursue their national interests, similarly the United States and its citizens, including Indian Americans, also have the duty to pursue their national interests. This belief is not a betrayal of our heritage, but is a citizenship and Indian citizen price flowing in our veins. This is a value that insists on living together peacefully despite differences. Inspire to follow the laws of its adopted countries and make positive contribution to the societies in which we live.

We are not a spokesperson of India

Suhag said, “As American citizens of Indian origin, whether they were born in India and have been citizenship in America or have been born here, they still consider India as their sacred motherland. We actually are often in a unique position with only one -sided nervous nectar about India and Indians. We can help American public and elected leaders understand India’s ground reality and to remove propaganda. But we cannot be a spokesperson of any Indian government or political party. Our responsibility is in the form of Americans, who live between two cultures. The democratic processes of our country are included. And we also do this.
