John Bolton Indictment: The federal grand jury has filed 18 cases against former US National Security Advisor John Bolton on charges of leaking confidential information. This is not the first time in the Trump administration that such allegations have been made against a former official.

Ever since Donald Trump came to power in America, every day one or the other official is being punished, who has been against him or his policies in the present or past. The name of John Bolton, former National Security Advisor of America, has also appeared in this list. A federal grand jury has filed 18 cases against 76-year-old John Bolton on charges of leaking confidential information.
How is Trump’s relationship with Bolton?
John Bolton reminded that Donald Trump had unsuccessfully tried to stop the publication of his book ‘The Room Where It Happened’ before the 2020 elections and later made it an issue in his election speeches. Now a 26-page indictment issued by a federal grand jury in Maryland says that Bolton shared more than 1,000 pages of confidential information through his private email and messaging apps. The information related to national security was like a diary. Now prosecutors claim that he sent these documents to two unauthorized persons, who are allegedly his wife and daughter.
Bolton faces serious allegations
According to the US Justice Department, these documents contained sensitive information related to upcoming attacks, foreign enemies and diplomatic relations. There is a provision of punishment of up to 10 years for each charge. US Attorney General Pam Bondi said- ‘Anyone who misuses his power and endangers national security will be brought to justice. No person is above the law.
Bolton said – this is Trump’s trick
John Bolton described these allegations as purely political. He said- ‘I am now a new name in the list on which Trump is misusing the Justice Department to target his opponents. The cases which were dismissed earlier are now being dragged back to the fore. Comparing Trump to Stalin’s secret police chief, Bolton said – ‘Just like he said – show me the man, I will tell the crime. Trump is also doing the same now. Bolton clearly said that now I am ready for this fight and am also ready to protect my innocent conduct and abuse of Trump’s power. This action against Bolton has come at a time when the Justice Department has also recently filed criminal cases against two other Trump critics – New York Attorney General Letitia James and former FBI Director James Comey.
