Trump described it as a ‘very productive conversation’ and claimed that the success of peace in the Middle East will now help in ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Putin thanked First Lady Melania Trump for her initiatives related to children. Both the leaders decided that there will be a meeting of high-level advisors next week, which will be led by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio from the American side. After this, Trump and Putin will meet face to face in Hungary’s capital Budapest. Trump said, ‘Today’s talks have resulted in major progress.’ Meanwhile, on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is going to meet Trump at the White House.
New twist from Trump-Putin call
Posting on ‘Truth Social’, Trump said Putin congratulated him on ‘peace that has been dreamed of for centuries’ in the Middle East. Trump believes that this peace can now pave the way for ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Both leaders also decided that after the end of the war, trade and energy deals between America and Russia would be restarted.
Trump said, ‘We have decided to hold a meeting of high level advisors within a week. After that Putin and I will meet in Budapest so that this inglorious war can be ended.
