Pakistan, Afghanistan agree on ceasefire, says Qatar – DW – 10/19/2025

The Qatari Foreign Ministry said late Saturday that Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to an “immediate ceasefire” following talks in Doha.

In a statement on X, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said that following talks brokered by Doha and Ankara, the two sides also agreed to establish mechanisms for lasting peace and stability.

They plan to hold follow-up meetings in the coming days to ensure the ceasefire remains sustainable.

Violence escalated after deadly explosions in Afghanistan last week, for which Kabul blamed Islamabad. In response, Pakistan accused Afghanistan of harboring terrorists carrying out cross-border attacks. Afghanistan has made similar allegations against Pakistan.
