America-China Tension: The ongoing tension between America and China is increasing due to the tariff war. Beijing increased the duty on American ships, after which Donald Trump’s government announced the imposition of 100 percent additional tariff. Along with this, America has so far imposed a total tariff of 130 percent on Chinese products. After this, China also retaliated and banned the export of rare earth minerals to America. Trump has become enraged by this. Now preparations are underway to carry out an ‘air strike’ on China. A proposal has been prepared by the Trump government, under which Chinese aircraft coming to America from Russian airspace will be banned. Even Xi Jinping has turned red due to this proposal of the Trump government. If Donald Trump’s proposal is implemented, Chinese airlines may have to suffer financial losses.
…so this is the reason
The US Department of Transportation on Thursday proposed to ban Chinese airlines from using Russian airspace on flights to and from the US. According to US officials, by passing through Russian airspace, Chinese airlines take less time and also spend less fuel. In this way, American airlines have to suffer losses because USA airlines do not use Russian airspace. This move comes at a time when Beijing has announced tightening export controls on rare earth minerals and other sensitive materials. Due to this, the possibility of further increase in tension between China and America has increased.

America’s next step
According to experts, if this proposal is implemented, America may stop approval for Chinese airlines’ flights next summer. In an even more drastic step, it can also cancel the approvals for the winter season starting from the end of October. Hugh Ritchie, CEO of Australia-based Aviation Analysts International, said that expelling airlines from another country’s airspace by a country usually happens only during wartime. He warned that if America implements this ban, China may also take similar steps. Experts say that this will be a very aggressive step for America and doubts are being raised about its implementation.
The proposal may become effective from November
The US Transportation Department has said that Chinese airlines will be given two days before a final decision on the order and that the final decision may take effect from November. It is noteworthy that after the start of the Ukraine war, Russia closed its airspace to airlines of American and many other countries in March 2022, while Chinese airlines are still exempted from this.
