First threat to China, now praise. US President Donald Trump first threatened to impose import duty on China and then his attitude seems to be softening on his own. On Sunday, Donald Trump said that he thinks the relationship between America and China will remain good in the future, even though he has threatened to impose 100 percent additional tariffs on Chinese imports from next month. He has also praised Chinese President Xi Jinping and said that he is a good leader for his country.
While talking to reporters on Air Force One, Donald Trump said that he has a good relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping. His statement is important because on Friday he had threatened new tariffs in response to new export controls on China’s rare earth minerals. Why did Donald Trump’s stance change?
On Sunday, Trump also wrote on the social media platform Truth Social – ‘Don’t worry about China, everything will be fine. Respected Chinese President Xi has seen only one bad moment. He doesn’t want a recession for his country, and I don’t want it either. America wants to help China, not harm it.
