Carolina. A shooting in a crowded bar on the very popular island of South Carolina, America, spread panic. Four people died and at least 20 were injured in this incident. Officials said the shooting occurred early Sunday morning (October 12, 2025) at Willy’s Bar & Grill on St. Helena Island. There was a huge crowd there when sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene and found several people suffering from gunshot wounds. “Many victims and witnesses ran into nearby businesses and properties to escape the gunfire,” the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on the social media platform X.

“This is a tragic and difficult incident for everyone involved. We ask for your patience as we continue to investigate this incident. Our thoughts are with all of the victims and their loved ones,” the statement said. Four people were found dead at the scene and at least 20 others were injured. The condition of four of the injured is critical and they have been admitted to regional hospitals. The identity of the victims has not been revealed.

Separate incidents of firing in America’s Mississippi, six people died
Similarly, six people died and many others were injured in separate incidents of firing in the US state of Mississippi. Four people were killed in a shooting after an alumni football game at a high school in Leland, in the western Delta region of Mississippi, a state senator said Saturday. Senator Derrick Simmons said that about 20 people were injured in the shooting that happened after people gathered in the city of Leland after the match. Simmons told The Associated Press (AP) that four of the 20 injured were in critical condition and had been taken from a hospital in nearby Greenville to a major medical center in the state capital Jackson.

Simmons said he was informed of the developments by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement officials in Delta. “People were gathering in downtown Leland and having a good time,” Simmons said. They were told that the situation after the shooting was “very chaotic” and that police, sheriff’s deputies and ambulances arrived at the scene after the incident. He said, “This is a senseless firing incident. It feels like the prevalence of guns has increased.”

At the same time, two people died in a separate incident of shooting in Heidelberg, East Mississippi. Mississippi City police are investigating this incident of firing that took place during a function. Heidelberg Police Chief Cornell White said two people were murdered on the school premises on Friday night. He declined to say whether the victims were students or provide any other information about the crimes. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that an 18-year-old man is being sought for questioning in the Heidelberg shooting. The sheriff said if anyone has any information they can contact the police chief or sheriff’s office.
