There was a huge crowd there when sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene and found several people suffering from gunshot wounds. “Many victims and witnesses ran into nearby businesses and properties to escape the gunfire,” the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on the social media platform X.

“This is a tragic and difficult incident for everyone involved. We ask for your patience as we continue to investigate this incident. Our thoughts are with all of the victims and their loved ones,” the statement said. Four people were found dead at the scene and at least 20 others were injured. The condition of four of the injured is critical and they have been admitted to regional hospitals. The identity of the victims has not been revealed.

They were told that the situation after the shooting was “very chaotic” and that police, sheriff’s deputies and ambulances arrived at the scene after the incident. He said, “This is a senseless firing incident. It feels like the prevalence of guns has increased.”

Mississippi City police are investigating this incident of firing that took place during a function. Heidelberg Police Chief Cornell White said two people were murdered on the school premises on Friday night.
