Qatar US Joint Airbase: After giving security guarantee to Qatar, America has announced to build a joint airbase in Idaho. Here Qatar’s F-15 jets and pilots will train with the US Air Force.

Washington: The defense partnership between America and Qatar has reached a new level. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Friday that the US will establish a joint airbase for the Qatar Air Force in Idaho. This base will become a major center for training of Qatar’s F-15 jets and pilots. “Today we are signing a letter of acceptance for the construction of a Qatar Amiri Air Force facility at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho,” Hegseth said. This partnership will strengthen our training and interoperability and enhance our combined strength. Qatar’s Defense Minister Abdulrahman Al Thani was also present with him during this announcement. Hegseth said, ‘Our relationship with Qatar is an example of trust and partnership. You can trust us.
Big step after Trump’s security guarantee
- This announcement has come at a time when US President Donald Trump had given ‘security guarantee’ to Qatar a few days ago. On September 29, Trump signed an executive order saying that America is committed to the security of Qatar.
- It was written in the order that if any country attacks Qatar’s ‘territory, sovereignty or critical infrastructure’ then it will be considered an attack against the peace and security of America.
- Trump said that in the event of any such attack, the US would take ‘legal and necessary steps’, which would include diplomatic, economic and, if necessary, military action.
