News of relief for these people
Following the clarification from USCIS, existing H‑1B, L‑1 and F‑1 visa holders have got relief. This fee does not apply to them, even if they leave America and then return. USCIS clarified that foreign students enrolled in the US will not be affected by this policy.
Apart from this, it will also not apply to existing H-1B visa holders who are renewing, extending or modifying their stay in the US.

Indians account for about 70% of new H-1B applications in the US every year. This clearly shows how important it is for the Indian technology sector and skilled workforce. Earlier this fee used to range from $200 to $5,000 depending on the size of the company and the role of the employee, which has now reached $1 lakh.
