Bitcoin was created by the CIA, says Tucker Carlson

  • For Carlson, it makes no sense to invest in an asset whose creator has a lot of money lying around.

  • The journalist states that, in his opinion, Satoshi’s identity is a relevant factor.

American journalist Tucker Carlson caused controversy by suggesting that bitcoin could have been created by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). During an event honoring the late political activist Charlie Kirk, Carlson explained the reasons why he avoids investing in the asset.

“I try to limit myself to investing only in things that I understand,” he said, noting that no one has been able to clarify the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym by which the creator of Bitcoin is known. Furthermore, he suggested that, According to his perspective, the CIA was involved in its creation.

«You know, I grew up in DC mainly, in a government family. So…the CIA. That’s my assumption,” stood out the interlocutor.

He also pointed out that he sees no point in investing in an asset whose creator is unknown and that he owns millions of dollars in bitcoin without ever moving them: “You’re telling me that I should put money into something whose founder is mysterious and has billions of dollars in unused BTC… No one can answer the question, including some of the largest holders in the world, whom I know personally.”

Carlson acknowledged that, although many bitcoin followers tell him that Satoshi’s identity is not relevant, he considers that it is.

Regarding his concerns about the millions of dollars in bitcoin linked to Nakamoto, Rodolfo Andragnes offers another perspective. As reported by CriptoNoticias, the co-founder of the NGO Bitcoin Argentina pointed out that, if the creator of BTC is still alive and decides to move those funds, it would be best to do so as soon as possible, so that any impact on the community and the market occurs immediately.
