US Vice President Vance ‘insulted’ by Israeli Parliament’s vote to annex West Bank

US Vice President JD Vance criticized a bill in the Israeli parliament to annex the occupied West Bank, saying he was personally insulted by the move.

“It was a very stupid political stunt,” he said as he departed after a visit to Israel.

Vance said the official US position is that the territory will not be occupied by Israel and will remain unchanged.

Trump: ‘If Israel annexes the West Bank it will lose all support from America.’

US President Donald Trump said Israel would lose Washington’s support and the country should proceed with annexation of the occupied West Bank.

“That will not happen,” Trump told US outlet Time Magazine, adding that he had given his word to Arab leaders that the territory – considered illegally occupied under international law – would not be annexed.

“If that happens, Israel will lose all support from America,” Trump said.

The US leader also described talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that led to him agreeing to a ceasefire deal in Gaza.

“I told (Netanyahu): You can’t fight the world,” Trump said.

The US President insisted, “I stopped him as he continued to move forward.”

Trump also said he planned to visit Gaza at some point.
