The Canaan company, manufacturer of Bitcoin (BTC) mining equipment, presented its new line of Avalon A16 ASIC devices on October 28 at the Blockchain Life 2025 event, held in Dubai.
Among the announced models, the Avalon A16XP stands out, with a price of USD 5,500 and which offers a hash rate of 300 terahashes per second (TH/s)with an electrical consumption of 3,850 watts and an efficiency of 12.8 joules per terahash (J/TH).

The least powerful equipment in the line, the Avalon A16reaches 282 TH/s, with an efficiency of 13.8 J/TH and a consumption of 3,900 watts, also with air cooling. Its initial cost is USD 4,600.
According to reported the company, the new ASICs for mining Bitcoin will be available for pre-order and They will begin shipping during the second quarter of 2026 from its production centers in North America, East Asia and Southeast Asia.
Compared to the previous model Avalon A15 Prowhich reaches 221 TH/s with an efficiency of 16.8 J/TH, Canaan’s new A16XP represents a significant leap in performance.
Its power of 300 TH/s implies a 35% increase in computing capacitywhile its energy efficiency improves by around 24%, by reducing consumption per unit of power from 16.8 to 12.8 joules per terahash.
These improvements allow a Faster data processing with lower power consumption for each mining operation.
