Pump.fun, a memecoin creation platform on the Solana network, announced the addition of the Mayhem Mode (“Chaos or Violence Mode,” in English), which allows artificial intelligence (AI) agents to bid on newly launched tokens.
Chaos Mode is designed to boost new cryptocurrency projects. To do this, it uses an AI agent that operates during the first 24 hours after a coin is tossed.
The functionality is available in Terminal (formerly Father App), a trading platform that was acquired at the end of October by pump.funwhich is the main generator of Solana meme coins, as told by CriptoNoticias.
This agent buys and sells tokens randomly to generate volume and volatility, thus helping newly created projects gain visibility and attract more traders.
To do this, the agent generates an additional 1 billion tokens, doubling the total supply to 2 billion. “The Agent is not guaranteed to exchange all coins with Chaos Mode activated,” they clarified from pump.fun.
These tokens are used exclusively for the agent’s operations within the 24-hour period; At the end of that time, unsold tokens are burned. Only coins created with Chaos Mode can be traded by the agent, and the feature cannot be activated once the asset is already in circulation.
The purpose of this system is to offer small projects “a more equitable opportunity” to grow within the ecosystem, while providing traders with a dynamic environment in which to identify early opportunities.
It should be noted that Chaos Mode is currently a beta feature subject to change before its official release, and is only available to some users.
“Chaos Mode is a permissionless feature that is currently available for experimentation on the mainnet,” noted the Solana-based project team.
From pump.fun, they warned that “cryptocurrencies that activate Chaos Mode may carry risks, since it is an early beta version that requires testing and experimentation in production.
