Gunmen have attacked the headquarters of Pakistan’s civilian paramilitary force, formerly known as the Frontier Constabulary, in Peshawar, police say, killing at least three officers.
Two of the attackers were suicide bombers who targeted the compound.
“The first suicide bomber attacked the main entrance of the constabulary and the second one entered the compound,” a senior official told Reuters news agency.
quoting officials dawn The newspaper and Geo News television said at least three attackers and three paramilitary members were killed during the attack.
Spokesman Mohammad Asim told Reuters news agency that five people injured in the attack were taken to the city’s Lady Reading Hospital.
No group has claimed responsibility, but the Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has been linked to similar attacks.
