If travelers pay in cash, they receive 5% of the value in BTC as a reward.
For SeQura, bitcoin has real long-term value.
SeQura, the Spanish commerce platform born in Barcelona that promotes purchases of services, has joined forces with the holiday package site Lastminute to offer its customers exclusive benefits. One of them includes rewards in bitcoin (BTC)
Through this collaboration, Lastminute can be accessed from the seQura app to purchase flights, hotels, packages and travel experiences through two alternatives. The first is to pay in cash, which allows you to obtain 5% of the value as cashback (gift refund) in bitcoin.
In other words, if you buy a trip worth 100 euros, then you can receive 5 euros back in bitcoin. These are transferred directly to the wallet address placed by the person, through an authorized cryptoasset service provider.
If you do not want bitcoin, the option to pay in cash also includes the possibility of receiving such cashback in points from its rewards program, Qoins. Each of these is equivalent to one euro.
The second alternative offered is to pay in three interest-free installments to divide the payments into smaller sizes. But this facility does not provide cashback in bitcoin, no points.
These travel reservations are added to the Smart Shopping experience at seQura that provides rewards in bitcoin and Qoins for purchases of different services. For now, Lastminute’s in the app will only be available in Spainalthough expansion to other European markets is planned for 2026.
Bitcoin unites travel giant and shopping service in Spain
With the integration, the Swiss-listed vacation package site becomes the first major tourism partner included in seQura’s Smart Shopping sector, expanding its offer in the travel category.
“Being part of the seQura app offering allows us to reach a rapidly growing audience within a highly interactive ecosystem, offering travelers more options, more flexibility and another way to book,” declared Lucio Marazzi, director of European alliances at Lastminute.
This alliance It is powered by the Spanish fintech RoiwardseQura technology partner. Its infrastructure enables travel inventory integration, supports regulatory requirements and manages booking flow.
“With lastminute.com within our Smart Shopping ecosystem and with Roiward supporting us in infrastructure, users can now book trips with more control and access bitcoin rewards that have real long-term value,” said David Bäckstrom, CEO of seQura, showing his bullish view for BTC.
This measure comes two months after bitcoin marked a new all-time high price of 126,000 dollars (USD), as reported by CriptoNoticias. The growing corporate and institutional demand, as well as the interest of governments to begin investing in the currency, has motivated such a scenario.
