Mayor gives final update as shelter-in-place order continues
What Providence Mayor Brett Smiley just said will be the last update of the evening unless there is a “meaningful update or breaking news.”
The latest briefing comes after local police released a surveillance video of the man they believe to be the shooter.
Smiley told reporters there was still no usable video from inside the building where the shooting occurred.
Officials said they were still canvassing the area.
According to Brown University, “Law enforcement agencies have established a perimeter around a portion of Brown’s campus.”
It also says the shelter-in-place order will remain in effect at all locations inside and outside the perimeter, and no one should move across or near the campus unless escorted by law enforcement.
