The man suspected of killing two people and wounding nine others at Brown University last weekend has been found dead in a storage facility in New Hampshire state, authorities said late Thursday.
“He took his own life tonight,” Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez said of the suspect, a former Brown University student.
The suspect was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday evening, Perez said at a news conference.
Police have identified the suspect as a 48-year-old Portuguese man. It is believed that his body was found in a storage unit in Salem, New Hampshire, about 20 miles (30 kilometers north of Boston).
Prosecutors said they were investigating whether the suspect was also behind the death of a man at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology two days after the Brown shooting.
However, authorities have not formally confirmed the connection between the two shootings.
