Willy Woo projects the next 10 years of the price of bitcoin under quantum risk

  • The “lateralization” that Woo refers to is in a wide range (5 to 6 figures).

  • Once the quantum challenge is overcome, bitcoin would go towards a million dollars.

Analyst and trader Willy Woo projected in a publication made on April 5, 2026, that the price of bitcoin (BTC) could enter a period of “broad lateralization” of around a decade.

For the specialist, this would be due to the uncertainty generated by the advance of quantum computing. This phase involves price movement without a clear bullish or bearish trend..

Therefore, Woo suggests that BTC could fluctuate over the next 8 to 12 years in a wide range between five and six figures before seeking new all-time highs. It is worth noting that this is a range that is not very precise for the market, since it establishes such a vast margin (it can be any number between 10,000 and 999,999 dollars) that dilutes the accuracy of the prediction.

But, the underlying idea—beyond the fact that it is not a very precise projection—is that bitcoin will have difficulty rising in price due to quantum risk.

The analyst explained that bitcoin has a margin of between 5 and 10 years to successfully overcome the transition to the post-quantum era. Quantum computing represents a critical danger because it uses processors capable of performing calculations at speeds exponentially faster than any current computer. This processing power would theoretically allow the security algorithms that protect Bitcoin wallets and validate their transactions to be violated.

It is worth clarifying that not all specialists agree on the imminence of the danger or the viability of the solution. Samson Mow, CEO of JAN3, maintains that the threat could take between “10 and 20 years” to materialize. Also, for Mow, making a hasty transition to post-quantum signatures (PQC) would have a very high operational cost so it is prudent to move forward more slowly but surely.

A seven-figure future for bitcoin

Despite the obstacles, Woo’s long-term vision for bitcoin remains optimistic once the quantum danger is overcome.

The analyst envisions a scenario where, after securing the network, the price skyrockets. According to him, btcoin could reach “7-digit figures” within 12 to 16 years, exceeding $1 million. Woo does not rule out the emergence of a “God candle,” which is what many have called an accelerated price increase, perhaps going up $10,000 or more in a single day.

The analyst concludes that, while gold has a few years left before the digital currency reduces its scarcity (which could come from new discoveries or industrial advances in its production), bitcoin will strengthen. According to Woo, once the protocol is resistant to quantum computing, the digital asset “will have no rivals” in the global financial system.
