The Dominican Bitcoin organization, in strategic alliance with the Salvadoran Mi Primer Bitcoin, announced the holding of the first theoretical workshop on BTC at a university in the Dominican Republic, starting classes on this asset in higher education in that country.

The workshop, titled “Blockchain (Learn about Bitcoin)”, will take place next Saturday, May 23, through the channels of the Dominican Industrial Psychology University (UPID), in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.

According to Bitcoin Dominicana reported at X this Thursday, April 30, the event has been structured under a webinar format with the aim of facilitating access to technical and economic information about digital currency.

The session, scheduled to start at 11:00 am and last until 12:30 pm, will delve into the fundamentals of the protocol and the operation of decentralized economic systems.

The bitcoiner organization emphasized that this effort represents a “significant step towards the expansion of education” about the world’s most important digital asset in that country. This, they argue, seeks to professionalize the understanding of the technology created by Satoshi Nakamoto among students and the interested public.

The Bitcoin Dominicana organization emphasized that the interactive workshop will not only be limited to theory, but will offer a practical vision on how these systems can be integrated into key sectors of the national economy.

Those interested in participating in this training meeting can obtain additional details through the university’s official channels. or through the institution’s web platform.

This new educational program is the materialization of a series of strategic agreements that UPID has formalized to strengthen its academic offering.

On January 6, 2026, the institution already gave signs of its commitment to financial innovation by announcing a cooperation agreement to implement the Bitcoin Diploma, as reported by CriptoNoticias.

This diploma uses the curriculum designed by Mi Primer Bitcoin, an organization recognized internationally for its pedagogical standards in training on the use and theory of this digital asset.

With the holding of this webinar on May 23, the effort to spread technical knowledge in the region is consolidated. The integration of Bitcoin into the curriculum or as a university extension suggests that the Dominican academy already recognizes the impact of this digital asset on the contemporary global financial system.
