Clashes between rival gangs in the suburbs of Haiti’s capital have killed at least 78 people and wounded 66 since Saturday, the United Nations office in Haiti said on Thursday. The toll included 10 civilians. Haiti, the Caribbean’s poorest country, has faced spiraling gang violence and worsening insecurity over the past two years.
