Trump invested heavily in Apple, Nvidia shares earlier this year
The CEOs of tech giants Apple and Nvidia are part of the trade delegation accompanying US President Donald Trump to Beijing.
Newly released financial transaction reports show that Trump made large investments in both companies in the first quarter of 2026.
They invested up to $7.2 million (about €6.2 million) in Apple during the first three months of 2026, according to US Office of Government Ethics data published on Thursday.
Exact quantities are not available because mandatory reporting shows only approximate ranges.
Apple’s largest purchase was made in early February and was valued at between $1 million and $5 million.
He also made an equally large purchase of Nvidia, ranging from $1 million to $5 million.
In contrast, larger sales, ranging from $5 million to $25 million each, include Microsoft, Amazon and Meta.
The trades also included shares of Oracle, Bank of America, Broadcom and Goldman Sachs.
In total, the data reflects 3,642 reportable trades worth between $220 million and nearly $750 million.
The data do not consistently clarify the type of security, such as whether it was a stock or a corporate bond.
It is not clear who did the business
It is not clear from the filing which account the transaction took place in or who made the trade.
The president’s assets are held in a trust controlled by his children, while some of the transactions in the new filing indicate a broker acted as an agent.
The White House press office referred questions about the trade from Reuters news agency to the Trump Organization.
A lawyer for the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to the news agency’s request for comment.
