Delhi liquor scam: Kejriwal gets bail, but now a new threat looms over Aam Aadmi Party – Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia out on bail, but AAP is facing a new threat in liquor policy scam

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia are now out on bail. Both of them are among the main accused in the alleged scam in Delhi’s liquor policy. The party is happy with the reappearance of its leadership at this crucial time, but the legal crisis still looms over it. In fact, apart from the leaders, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) itself is also one of the main accused in this case. According to information received by our partner News18 from sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now preparing to tighten the noose on the party further.

According to sources, ED may soon file another supplementary chargesheet in the case, which will detail AAP’s alleged role. So far, ED has filed a total of nine chargesheets in the case, of which eight are supplementary chargesheets. A senior official said, “The investigation is still on and we have more clues in the case. It is the job of the judiciary to grant bail to the accused, but the case is still in trial. None of our accused have been acquitted and we have sufficient evidence against them.”

He further said, “The excise policy made by the Delhi government and the manner in which the deals were struck indicate a big scam in which public money has been misused and converted into political funding. The special thing is that AAP is also an accused in this case. We may file another supplementary charge sheet clarifying the party’s involvement.”

Though the Aam Aadmi Party has got some temporary relief with the release of its senior leaders, this case still remains a big threat to the party, which can change the political position of AAP. The coming months will be crucial for the party, where apart from the legal and political battle, it will have to save its honest image in front of the public. The outcome of this important case can either prove to be a turning point for AAP or deepen its crisis.
