Buffalo with ‘Trump’ hairdresser saved from slaughter, taken to zoo

In Bangladesh, an albino buffalo whose hair is strikingly similar to US President Donald Trump’s signature coat has been saved from being slaughtered and has become a crowd favorite at a local zoo.

Tourists are lining up to see the 700 kg bovine, known as “Donald Trump”, in his new home at Dhaka’s Mirpur National Zoo.

After deciding that the animal would be taken to the National Zoo in Dhaka, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered the release of the buffalo and returned the money to the local buyer.

“At the last moment, the decision was taken to save the buffalo from slaughter due to safety concerns and the unusual level of public interest,” a ministry official said.

The buffalo was raised on a local farm in Narayanganj, outside Dhaka, and has attracted a steady stream of curious visitors since moving into its new habitat.

“I came to the zoo to see Donald Trump!” The Daily Star 10-year-old Saiful Islam shouted.

According to reports, the farmer’s brother named the buffalo after Trump because of its unusual hair and resemblance to the US President.

Officials placed a sign on the fence, identifying the animal as “White Buffalo (Donald Trump) Albino Buffalo”.
