It said the Kerem Shalom crossing, the Rafah crossing and others were being closed “until further notice.”

Britain’s Foreign Secretary calls for reducing tension and dialogue

British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has called for de-escalation after Iran fired missiles towards Israel in response to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon.

“The resumption of conflict between Iran and Israel is in no one’s interests. Both sides should show restraint and immediately de-escalate tensions,” he said on social media.

“The dialogue must continue toward a lasting solution to the peace and stability in the region and full resumption of global trade that we all need.”

Trump: ‘Hopefully Israel will not retaliate’

US President Donald Trump has warned against further retaliatory attacks between Israel and Iran in a brief interview with an online outlet axios.

“I’m going to call Bibi right now and tell her not to retaliate,” Trump said, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his surname.

“Each of them had their fun. Israel had their strike, and Iran had their strike. We don’t need anyone else.”

Trump further said that the Iranian attacks “didn’t hurt anybody.”

Trump said, “Hopefully Israel will not retaliate. If Bibi retaliates on them, it will be like the last 47 years or the last 3,000 years.”

He once again claimed that the US and Iran are “very close” to reaching a ceasefire agreement.

“Due to the safety and security assessment… the western part of the country’s airspace has been declared closed until further notice,” National Civil Aviation Organization spokesman Majid Akhavan said in a statement carried by news agency IRNA.

Neighboring countries Iraq and Syria also announced the closure of their airspace as a security precaution.

Iran said, attacks on Israel ‘warning’

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Sunday that its earlier attacks on Israel were a “warning” of a wider response.

It threatened attacks that would engulf all American and Israeli bases in the region if “aggression” was repeated.

Iran’s military central command said Israel’s latest attack on southern Beirut suburbs “crossed all red lines.”

Gen. Ali Abdullahi, head of the Khatam al-Anbiya Command, said, “The Israeli military must stop its attacks on southern Lebanon and the suburbs, and if it expands its attacks in that area or responds to Iran’s actions, it will face a more devastating and regrettable blow.”

Israeli military says it has detected incoming Iranian missiles

Israel said on Sunday that it has detected missiles coming from Iran.

The Israeli military said in a post on Twitter that it had “identified missiles launched from Iran toward Israel.”

“Defensive systems are working to stop the threat,” the post reads.

A few minutes later, the army said it had detected another barrage.

They are the first such missile barrages since a ceasefire agreement was reached between the United States and Iran in early April.

The statement came after Israel on Sunday struck Beirut’s southern Dahiya neighborhood – believed to be a stronghold of the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia.

Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Bagher Ghalibaf vowed that Iran would respond “decisively” and “proportionately” to Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

Iranian lawmaker threatens ‘painful response’ to Israel’s attacks on Beirut

Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Rezaei said in a post on Sunday that Tehran would give a “decisive and painful response” to Israeli attacks on the southern outskirts of Beirut.

“Look at the skies over the occupied territories tonight,” wrote Rezaei, who serves as a spokesman for the Iranian parliament’s National Security Commission.

There was no immediate formal reaction from Tehran.

Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf later accused Washington of approving Israeli attacks on Beirut and vowed a “decisive” and “proportionate” response, according to Iranian state media.

He said the attack turns American and Israeli “bases and assets … into legitimate targets” in the region.

“Our armed forces, as always, are free to act,” he said.

Trump says US will take enriched uranium from Iran with or without deal

US President Donald Trump said Iran’s highly enriched uranium will end up in US hands whether the two countries reach an agreement to end the war between them.

“If we make an agreement that we are friendly now, we will all go together. This will be our equipment,” Trump told US broadcaster NBC. He said that uranium would be destroyed.

The US President said, “Now, if we do not make a deal, we will withdraw (enriched uranium) very harshly.”

Trump also said that any deal with Tehran would not result in the immediate freezing of Iranian assets.

“Yes, if they behave, if they do a good job, then we start talking,” Trump said.

Five killed in Israeli attack in Gaza

At least five people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a police station in the Gaza Strip, the enclave’s Civil Defense Service said.

This comes despite a US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Gaza-based militia Hamas, with both sides sharing blame for alleged ceasefire violations.

At least 961 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, with the Israeli military reporting five military casualties during the same period.

International media outlets are still barred from entering Gaza due to the Israeli government’s decision, resulting in an inability to independently verify news coming from the enclave.

Israeli officials said Israel launched strikes in the Dahiya area south of the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The area is known as a stronghold of the Iran-backed Lebanese militia Hezbollah.

“This comes as a response to Hezbollah’s firing toward Israel,” a joint statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said.

The Israeli military described the targets of the attacks on its official X account as “the infrastructure of the terrorist group Hezbollah.”

It is the first time Israel has launched strikes in the Lebanese capital since a new ceasefire was announced on Wednesday, amid reports that Israel wanted to attack Beirut first and that US President Donald Trump had blocked the attack from happening.

Palestinian arrested in Greece for alleged Hamas membership

A 37-year-old man of Palestinian origin was arrested on the Greek island of Crete for allegedly being a member of the Islamic organization Hamas and planning terrorist attacks, according to Athens police.

The man, who reportedly arrived in Greece about a year ago and received asylum in the country, is one of three Palestinians who received joint training in the use of explosives abroad, police said, adding that the investigation is still ongoing. The other two were recently arrested in Cyprus.

Searches of flats in Crete and Athens resulted in authorities finding several mobile phones, a laptop and bank cards.

Parts of Europe remain on high alert due to possible targeting of Israeli and Jewish institutions across the continent in connection with the conflict in the Middle East.
