Two people were killed and another seriously injured after a shooting at a machine-manufacturing company in the southwestern German state of Baden-Wurttemberg, police said Tuesday.
The shooting occurred when a masked man entered the company’s premises in Bad Friedrichshall, a city about 60 kilometers (37.3 miles) north of Stuttgart at about 5:45 p.m. local time (1645 GMT).
After deploying a helicopter as part of the search operation, police said the main suspect was captured by special forces in Sekach, a town 30 km to the north.
Police said on Tuesday evening that the condition of the injured person remains critical.

“There is currently no threat to the population.”
Both the victims were reportedly employees of the company, which produces high-precision cogs and gears for machinery.
The mayor of Bad Friedrichshall, Timo Frey of the center-right Christian Democrats (CDU), said the company is well-known in the region and employs about 400 people in the city of 20,000.
Investigators said other company employees were present when the shooting occurred and were being questioned.
