Visit to Görtz – shoe courier

The new lounge store in Hamburg-Eppendorf has a cozy atmosphere, not least thanks to the sofas as seating. The wide shop window and entrance area look inviting thanks to the clothing. Presenter Verona Pooth greets as a testimonial of the collection “Verona’s Favorites” from the own brand GLDN. The lounge concept can be described as an “online shop with fittings”: a model of each pair of shoes is shown. Every style is available in every size locally. If a shoe is selected and fits when you try it on, it can be ordered. Instead of full warehouses, the focus is on quality of stay. There is a coffee machine; Chocolates can be bought for one euro each. Thanks to the concept, services such as running analysis also find space in the area. The impression: There’s a lot on offer in a small space, but the concept doesn’t seem restrictive. Brands featured here include Lacoste, Birkenstock, Bugatti, Timberland, Converse, Reebok and Ugg. There is also a small proportion of own brands.

The Görtz store in the Europapassage is a rather small area. It is one of the locations for which there is an eviction notice. This was received by the Hamburg Regional Court on November 15th. Brands in the range include Toms, Vans, Hoff, Lacoste and Birkenstock. The private label share appears high. A look at the range reveals gaps, the goods appear unusually arranged: Toms shoes can be found on the Rieker shelf. There are many unique pieces by Hoff or Marc O’Polo, for example. Some brands only have two stacks of boxes. The brands Toms, Birkenstock and Converse are well represented.

The Görtz flagship on Hamburg’s Spitaler Straße is the place that everyone from the shoe industry who traveled to the Hanseatic city always pays a visit: just see what new Görtz had in its range, how the women’s shoes were presented, how the children’s shoe department was designed. This shop has always been THE shoe shop in Hamburg. Even today, the store is still an eye-catcher: the pictures on the walls bear witness to the company’s exciting history. The range of brands includes Högl, Paul Green, Gant, Timberland, Bugatti, Rieker, Marc O’Polo, K-Swiss, Flamingo’s Life, Vans and Church’s, as well as the own brands Ludwig Görtz, Cox, Another A and Drievholt.

Individual brands are represented with very large areas, for example Paul Green in the women’s shoe department and Bugatti in the men’s department. In the women’s area there is an area with Görtz’s own textile brand GLDN, complemented by elegant shoes and bags from Steve Madden. In the men’s shoe area, classic men’s shoes are presented in a special area, including primarily the own brand Ludwig Görtz, but also Santoni – heavily reduced with a discount of up to 50% – and Floris van Bommel, also with a discount. The surfaces seem a little functional. Sneakers can also be seen in their own area; Brands include Vans, Converse and New Balance.
