A British judge ruled on Tuesday that Prince Harry failed to prove that Associated Newspapers Ltd. (ANL) had invaded his privacy, throwing out the royal’s final lawsuit against British tabloids.
Harry had accused daily MailAn ANL tabloid, which illegally obtained information about his and his wife Meghan’s personal life.
Judge Matthew Nicklin said that “doubt, even where understandable” did not prove legal error, and there was a lack of concrete evidence against ANL.
The journalists concerned had offered “legitimate explanations for the source of the disputed articles and incidents,” he said.

Last of three trials
Harry was joined in filing the lawsuit by six other public figures, including musician Elton John and actresses Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost, who sought significant legal damages.
In some cases, the judge said too much time had passed since the alleged crimes to prosecute them.
It was the last of three lawsuits brought by Harry against the British media, which he accuses of hacking and hiring private detectives to follow him. A controversial case against a company owned by Rupert Murdoch Sun Last year ended with an agreement. In 2024, a judge partially ruled in his favor in the phone-hacking case.
Prince Harry is currently in the UK to promote his non-profit sporting event the Invictus Games, and is not expected to comment on the decision.
