At least 35 people have been killed and 30 injured when two buses collided in eastern Syria.
The accident occurred on Saturday on the highway linking Damascus with Deir al-Zour province.
What else do we know about the accident?
The Interior Ministry said one bus was carrying security personnel, while the other bus was carrying civilians.
State television footage showed a vehicle engulfed in flames after the collision.
Military helicopters were dispatched to the scene to help evacuate the injured and recover bodies.
The cause of the accident remains unknown.
The route is widely known as the “Road of Death” due to frequent and often fatal accidents.
