Ethereum would reach USD 10,000 by the end of 2025: Standard Chartered

The British bank Standard Chartered has projected that ether (ETH), the cryptocurrency of the Ethereum network, could reach USD 10,000 by the end of 2025.

The financial institution attributes this growth potential to the influx of institutional capital driven by exchange-traded funds (ETF), whose impact could be consolidated in the next year.

Since the approval of Ethereum ETFs by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2024, the market has observed a mixed behavior.

In their first months, these financial instruments went through a critical situation with accumulated capital outflows. However, after the presidential elections in the United States last November, the panorama changed significantly.

In the days following Donald Trump’s victory, Ethereum ETFs began to record capital inflows, marking a change in trend. For example, in the last five days, ETFs have accumulated approximately $325 million in positive flows, according to Soso Value data.

Projected growth by 2025

Although ETFs have slightly improved their performance, this has not had an impact on the price of the cryptocurrency. This has remained between 3,000 and 3,700 dollars in the last month.

However, Standard Chartered anticipates that Institutional investment flows into Ethereum during 2025 will exceed 2024 levelswhich would raise the price of the asset.

The entity highlights that a large part of This capital could come from pension fundsknown for their long-term investments and conservative profile. These types of investors look for regulated instruments, such as ETFs, to access the cryptocurrency market without the need to acquire the assets directly.

Impact on the broader market

The influx of institutional capital not only strengthens Ethereum’s position, but also legitimizes the crypto asset as a viable investment. This legitimacy effect could attract more participants to the marketincluding retail investors, which would expand Ethereum’s user base and encourage a positive cycle of investment and price growth.

Standard Chartered foresees much more positive behavior for bitcoin (BTC), projecting that the price of the leading coin could reach USD 200,000 by the end of 2025.

The case of bitcoin ETFs has been opposite to that of ether. These financial instruments have reached historic investment levels. Since their launch in January 2024 they have accumulated a flow of 39 billion dollars.

Currently priced at $3,200, Ethereum is strategically positioned to benefit from the growth in institutional demand through ETFs. The combination of new investment tools and greater institutional adoption could mark a before and after for Ethereum in the coming years.
