The award ceremony took place in Vienna’s Palais Liechtenstein: Out of 165 submissions, 19 companies were nominated for the Trigos Award 2024, an award for sustainability and CSR in Austria
The Austrian shoe manufacturer Legero United won the climate protection category: With the in-house eco-database, a measure of the Legero United sustainability agenda (Luna for short), the company can measure the environmental performance of all 3,500 items produced annually in the Legero, Superfit and Think! collections. This means that the carbon footprint can be calculated and specifically reduced right on the design table during the first draft. “Our eco-database is an essential pillar of our sustainability agenda,” says Karin Kapper, Head of Sustainability and Quality Assurance at Legero United. “It is constantly updated and will be expanded to include other important data sources over the next two years.” And she continues: “The Trigos Award is an honor for us and an incentive to continue our efforts consistently.”
