Pope Francis’ health has deteriorated in the last 24 hours, the Vatican said in a statement on Saturday, after a week, when he was hospitalized with difficulties in breathing.
The Vatican wrote, “The holy father is alert and spends the day in a chair, although he is more hey than the yard. At the moment, the disease is diagnosed.”
The statement said that 88 -year -old Francis suffered a “prolonged respiratory crisis”, requesting blood transfusion.
Doctors had to administration of oxygen “high flows” due to the Pope’s breathing crisis, the Vatican said, the tests were required to add infections because the tests showed that they had a low platelet count, which was associated with anemia.
Francis ‘not out of danger’
“The position of the Holy Father remains important,” the statement continued. “Pope is not out of danger.”
