The IFO business climate index is based on approximately 9,000 monthly reports from companies from the manufacturing trade, the service sector, trade and the main building industry.
In the processing industry, the balance, the comparison of positive and negative feedback, has improved from -24.8 to -22.1. The current situation was rated a little worse, but the view of the coming months was significantly less Pessimisitsch. In the service sector, the balance has dropped from -2.2 to -4.3. The skeptical voices increased in particular in the area of transport and logistics. In the trade, the balance rose from -29.5 to -26.2. The expectations in particular have brightened up, but the current situation was also slightly better rated. In the construction industry, the balance rose from -28.1 to -27.6. The reason for this was less skeptical expectations. On the other hand, the ongoing business was assessed a little worse. The lack of order remains the central problem.
