Tahawwur Rana Extradition to India: 26/11 Mumbai Supreme Court has filed an application in Tawwur Hussain Rana, accused of Mumbai terror attack. He wants him not to extradite India.

Washington: Tahwwur Rana has appealed to the Supreme Court of America not to extradited India. Rana has demanded “Emergency Stay”. Rana has said in his application that he can be “tortured” if he is sent to India. He is Muslim and is of Pakistani origin, so he is more in danger. Citing the 2023 report of Human Rights Watch, he said that the Government of India discriminates against minorities, especially Muslims. He said that the Government of India has become “autocratic” and there is every possibility of torturing them there. His health is also bad. He is suffering from diseases like 3.5 cm Abdominal Enurism, Parkinson’s and cancer. If the US Supreme Court rejects his appeal, he will be sent to India.
Who is Tehwavur Rana?
Tahwwur Rana is a Canadian citizen of Pakistan origin. He is accused of playing a role in the 26/11 Mumbai attack. In America, he was found guilty of supporting Lashkar-e-Taiba. India had been demanding his extradition for a long time. Last month, at the press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House, US President Donald Trump announced that Tahavvur Rana would be sent to India. He said, “Rana will go to India and face justice.”
PM Modi also thanked America. Trump further said, “We have approved the extradition of conspirators of the Mumbai terror attack. It is one of the most dangerous people in the world. “
India’s jails are ready for Rana
The Government of India is preparing to bring Rana to India soon. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Our jails are ready for Rana. We had also kept Ajmal Kasab, so security is not a problem. ” As soon as Rana comes to India, he will be produced in the NIA Special Court. After that NIA will ask for his custody so that it can be questioned.
David Headley also revealed
Rana was arrested in 2009. David Headley testified against him in court. In the US, he was found guilty of conspiracy to attack Denmark but was acquitted of terrorist activities in India. He was later sentenced to 14 years.
